At 4PM on Saturday, the regular crowd of local Aussie expats, NGO employees, American veterans with Vietnamese wives and travelers passing through gathered at Loc Chau’s restaurant on China Beach. It's the weekly event whose only purpose is chewing the fat, catching up on all the scuttle butt, hearing the same old sea stories and drinking cold Tigers. Look for the older foreign guys sitting at a long table with a bucket of brewskies on ice.
Come on down, introduce yourself and join the only party in town that’s been regularly attended for over ten years. Come to Loc Chau’s across the street from the Tourane Hotel on the beach. If you're a veteran coming back for a visit, you beers are on us. Watch your step coming down the rock stairs.
